Has anyone applied ONLINE for Work Permit instead of sending by post? Please share your experiences about the process, processing time etc and any useful tips you may have. I am planning to apply online. Thanks a lot.

I'm applying for temporary work permit (with LMO) from outside Canada. I'm confused because it gives me the option of applying online too; but when I check processing times, the online processing times are shown only for applications made inside Canada. Please help. Thanks a lot.

Well processing times would either be same or less for online application. I have seen online application processing faster.

But I have read that if you are from India, then try paper application as that's the fastest way over there.

Thank you so much Arif. I'm from Nepal and my paper application will be processed by New Delhi. The thing is, my first application was refused by New Delhi stating that the Visa Officer is not satisfied that I will leave Canada by the end of my authorised stay, considering these factors - 1) family ties, 2) limited employment prospects in my country, 3) personal assets and financial situation.

I'm re-applying showing my personal and family properties and bank balance, which I had not done in my previous application. Would you suggest me to apply online or on paper because I was wondering if online would have better chances that applying by paper to the same officer who refused me visa in the first place. Do you know if my online application will be processed in a different center or again New Delhi? Thank you for your suggestions.

I applied Work permit online, and got visa already. The total processing is about 2 and half months.
It is very smoothly. I am surprised that it is fast.

Hi,

From where did you apply online? I mean, which visa office handled your request?

Thanks!

Hi Soontobecanadian,
Thank you for your hopeful message :)
Waiting for medical request soon. I sent paper application thru VFS which was received in New Delhi on May 2, 2013.
Keeping fingers crossed.

Question: If i have a postgarduate work permit, do I also need a TRV. I thought TRV was not mandatory so now I am worried. I did apply for permanent residence after working for 1 year but my friend mentioned that while working with a postgraduate work permit, one must have a TRV. Pls advise.....
