Dear All,

For some reasons, I would be getting delayed in applying for FSWP 2014 for NOC 2173 at CIC.

I would be only be able to send docs on June-12th 2014.

Will it be too late for this NOC? Whats your suggestion based on previous CAP filling?

Good luck to all.

Regards,
Bruhaspti

No-one can accurately predict this.

Last year 2173 wasn't open, but 2174 was open for a cap of 500 and filled before the end of May.

Just do it as quickly (and accurately) as you can, and hopefully you'll be OK :)

don't worry very less applicant are there who are ready for 2173.
last year 2174 filled by the end of July and it was having 300 caps as all other NOC
and 2147 got filled by the end of September.

Most of the applicant will go for 2174 this year also and 2173 is very specific NOC not common software developers.

Optimism is good, and certainly there are more spaces this time, but you should know that 2174 was definitely filled in May, not July last year.

The confusion arises because it takes time to process the apps in SydneyNS, so the last person on the forums from 2174 to receive PER had got their application delivered to SydneyNS on 30 May 2013, and those after that got their applications back in the post. Despite this, the tracking page on the CIC website still said gave the appearance of spaces for 2174 during July and August. Towards the end of August they then reported the cap was full.

So in my case (24 May applicant) I got PER on 8 August, and up until that time my app was not being counted for the CAP, it was just in a big pile of paperwork somewhere waiting to be handled. Once they started handling it (at the beginning of August), CIC knew they had one more 2174 to add to the 200 or so applications they had counted already.

You might be wondering why they don't just count the envelopes as they come in, but the answer is that they only count "completed applications", which is good.

Actually you can see the same affect as last year already because the programme has been open for a week and there are no places reported taken from the caps yet. In the words of CIC:

"Due to the large number of applications we get, we cannot check that each one is complete on the same day it gets to the office. The numbers on this page are updated at least once a week, but are only a guide. There is no guarantee that an application sent in now will fall within the cap by the time it gets to the Centralized Intake Office."

Anyway, for more information on what happened last year, check the spreadsheet in my signature (there are several tabs so have a browse around).

All the best

hi,

I will also apply for NOC 2173.

Just started the process.
Sent docs to WES for ECA.

Then i realised i have to give IELTS also.
Never thought that there is a fight to get a place in IELTS.
The latest date i could get is 21st June. Cry
So i will get my result around 5th July 2014.

Will send my application at that point.
Not sure till that time there will be anything left in any of the NOC 2173/2174.

You will be one month ahead of me so you will have a very good chance of making it.

Hope for the best Grin

Otherwise at least we will be prepared with docs for next year 8)

I will also apply for NOC 2173.
mine is also the same situation.
- educational certificate attestation is pending.
- IELTS prepareation and exam is pending. we will get slot for exam, but what about required passing points. 6 in each is minimum.
- Police certificates are pending.

so i guess this year its not possible.....preparation of docs will take time.....
but we should be able to use the docs for next year......may be for express entry-2015???

- also what is this express entry in Jan 2015...i have heard so many people talking about it in the forum...do we know how many people can apply in express entry and how many applications will be accepted for each NOC??

Good way of seeing it. :) Try your best for 2014, you might manage it in time or you might try for 2015.

PCC varies by country. UK takes 1 to 2 weeks.

Express Entry is like the Australian EOI system - you apply and if they are interested in you (or an employer is) then they invite you to fill in more paperwork and get you processed quickly.

When you get your PER it tells you your UCI number which allows you to track your application on the ECAS system.
In 2013 people applying in May got their PER from CIC in July/August, so you could be waiting for quite a while yet.
