Applying my spouse PR while she is on Visitor Visa

I am very confused between applying for PR from India(Outland) or in Canada(inland) for my spouse.

My wife holds a Visitor visa with multiple entries to Canada. However, she can stay only for 6 months constantly.

1. I was wondering if I can apply for her PR within Canada while she is here on Visitor Visa?
2. What are the chances of her getting open work permit and stay extension during the process for PR?
3. If I apply within Canada, I need to get her Driving License done. Can I apply for G1 while she is on Visitor Visa?

Any help would be appreciated.

1. Yep, you can apply for PR while she is on a Visitor Visa for inland.
2. You have to include the app for the OWP when you submit the Inland app (don't forget to pay the seperate fee for that).
3. I'm not sure about obtaining a driver's license during the process.

You can use other documents than just a driving license. Ontario can be strict about who can apply; you may not be eligible to receive a driving license until you have acknowledgement of receipt of the application.

Think about other options, like bills that can be changed to have both names; insurance that can have her name added as a beneficiary.

I have to select a minimum 2 out of below :
1. joint residential property - Don't have
2. rent agreement show both names - dont have since I live with my brother, in fact, my name is also not there in agreement
3. joint bank account - I can do it
4. add my spouse in Vehicle insurance - cant add since she doesn't have a license
5. copy of government issue document showing same address - license again
6. document showing same address even if not joint account - don't know what can go for this option

as you can see I can only manage to get 1 if I don't get the driving license.

We were unable to provide 2 documents for this section. So we included what we could (seperate documents for each of us that listed the same addres- utility bills for my husband and mail for me), as well as a letter detailing why we did not have any of the other 5 requirements.

When do you say mail for me what does that mean? which document did you submit for that? and what did you write in the detailing letter?

The one was a card from a friend that sent us flowers for our wedding (that had our shared address in Brazil). And the other was a receipt from a phone that I had delivered to our address.

In the letter, I addressed that we are only living in Brazil for a year (or however long it takes for our application to be processed).
Thus we won't be buying any property in Brazil and we haven't had time to get a joint bank account together.
I'm also not driving here so vehicle issuance is not applicable, nor will I have government issued ID (I have a PR card for Brazil but it doesn't have an address on it).
We also explained that we are living in an apartment owned by my husband's parents, therefore we don't have a rental agreement.

You just need to go through each point and explain why you can't provide those documents. It'll depend on your circumstances. And they may ask to provide more info, so if you can get more docuements in the mean time, that might help. Hope this helps.
