Hi,
I have accepted an internship as an international student, and I have to apply for Temporary Residence Visa under the short-term 120-day work permit exemption for researchers. In the IRCC portal, initially, for listing the required documents we have to answer some questions regarding our situation. One of the questions is:
" I have a job offer and my employer gave me an offer of employment number or LIMA number (or proof of that your employer applied for a LIMA) ".
I am not sure whether to answer this question with "yes" or "no", since I do not want to apply for LIMA exemption, and the institute did not give me an employment number.
If I select yes, the result claims that I am eligible to come to Canada as a foreign worker - International Mobility Program (Visitor's visa required + no work permit). On the other hand, if I select "no" as the answer to the mentioned question, the result is that I can come to Canada with an Open work permit (which is totally different from what I need).
Could anyone help me with this issue? I have searched a lot but I haven't found any relevant information specifically.
Thanks.
