Hi,

To make your application stronger, you must demonstrate strong ties to India..... with no plans of remaining in Canada long-term. As you are young and intend to visit with your wife (who's not working) and baby, your chances of getting a TRV could be on the lower side.

These ties include: your employment, family, financial situation, property ownership or rented accommodation, etc. Have you traveled abroad earlier? You'll have to post more information about your situation for these ties + duration of your visit so that we can advise

Cheers

Hi,

Your chances are definitely much better if you apply alone without your wife and baby.

You can submit these documents to show your ties:
Family Ties: Marriage certificate + passport copy of your wife + birth certificate of your baby + proofs they live with you at the same address + state in your cover letter that they are not accompanying you

Also, if you have dependent parents/grandparents then provide evidence they live with you + you pay for their expenses

Employment Ties: Employment letter + 6 months payslips + 2 years ITRs + leave approval letter stating you'll have you job when you return

Financial: Bank statements (nothing borrowed) + FDs, shares, mutual funds, PPF, EPF, LIC, foreign currency, etc

Property Ties: Do you own this property or is it joint ownership? Do you live in this property? Or have you rented it?
If it's your own property (not family property).... then do submit property ownership documents + property tax receipts + assessment by a CA + proofs of market value

Travel history: UK student visa details + entry/exit dates for UK visits/visits to any other countries (with visa details)

Some points:
1. If your annual salary package is INR 400,000 (I'm assuming it's pre-tax), it is very low to finance a Canada visit.... because you also have you annual personal/family expenses.

You must be able to show CAD 1000 per week of visit + airfare + other expenses.... without borrowing from anyone

2. What is the duration of your intended visit? And the purpose of your visit? When?

Cheers

Hi,

Yes, you must submit 2 years IT returns.

Yes, your host can give you an Invitation Letter along with copies of their passport/immigration status in Canada (and also copies of their tax returns.... if they want to give their financial documents).

Again, before you apply do ensure you have adequate finances of your own for the visit.... Also, your bank balance/investments submitted for your TRV must match your income

Cheers

Hi Bryanna,

I would need some advise regarding my husband visa. This is my situation,

Applied for PR(under CEC) in Feb 2014. Got married in Jan 2015 and added my spouse to my PR application. Now, waiting for passport request email from CIC.
Im currently in Canada on bridging open work permit which is due to expire on Mar 2016. My husband is in India. Because PR is taking long time, I want to bring my husband here through any kind of visa. What is the best option? Can I ask him to apply for visitor visa from india? and then when he comes here, can i apply for my work permit extension and include my spouse open work permit application? Is this a good idea? Any other suggestions? pls advice.....

Thanks

Hello IUser,

I will be going to in same situation like you as I will be getting married sooner. My application for PR is in process based on provincial nominee. I wanted to ask you about what all documents you needed for your husband's file? If you could give me some information about it, it will help me to give head start to prepare application for my spouse.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Hammer,

Below are the following documents I was asked to submit to add my husband to my PR application:

Controlled documents required for continued processing:

· Updated IMM0008 Application for Permanent Residence in Canada to be completed by the Principal Applicant

· A completed and signed IMM5406 Additional Family Information by your spouse

· A completed and signed IMM5669 Schedule A by your spouse

· A copy of your spouse’s valid passport

· A copy of your spouse’s birth certificate

· An original police certificate for all countries your spouse has lived for more than 6 months since the age of 18 years; (for more information, consult the following link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp)

· A copy of your marriage certificate;

· *If applicable*- A divorce certificate for your spouse, if he/she was previously married

Few months after submitting the above necessary documents, I was asked to provide evidences for our marriage. Below is the snapshot of the email that I received:

Evidence of the relationship between you and your spouse, such as:

· Engagement photos and/or photos of outings;
Wedding photographs depicting all the rituals of a traditional wedding, including wedding reception and post wedding photographs;
· If your spouse or CLP is living abroad, please provide proof of your or their visits such as airline ticket coupons, used boarding passes, complete photocopy of all pages of your spouse’s passport;
· Evidence of continued contact such as phone bills, letters and e-mails;
· Details of the history of your relationship;
· At least two statutory declarations from individuals with personal knowledge of your common-law relationship supporting your claims;

Any other documents that you feel would demonstrate your relationship to your spouse or CLP.

Hops this helps

Just quick question guys - For spouse open work permit application, does my spouse need to give IELTS test or it is optional?
