Hi Everyone,

I have a question.

I arrived in Canada in 2021 on Student Visa.

I conclude my studies in Sept. 2022 and accordingly, the Study Visa expired. I applied for PGWP which was approved and issued in Feb. 2023, and I have been working based on the approved PGWP which is still valid till sometime in 2024.

However, as I am about to make my travel arrangement for my holiday in December 2023, I realized that I only have a valid PGWP, but no Visa, and the implication is that I may not be able to return to Canada if I leave as a VISA is required to enter Canada.

I am about to apply for a Visit Visa inside Canada to enable me exit and re-enter Canada. My question is
  • Would this be the right process?
  • Would it be considered late to apply for the Visit Visa at this time since the Study Visa expired in Sept. 2022. Even though I have since applied and gotten approved PGWP, which is still valid?
  • Is this something i could do on my own or should I consult an Immigration Expert
I appreciate any guidance in this direction. Thanks all.

Hello everyone.
just checking to know if anyone would be kind enough to share some highlights or info on my question above. Thanks.
