Applying for visa with CONDITIONAL offer

Hello,

So, the worst possible thing happened. The Canadian university never received my sealed transcripts that were sent from my British university. I was under the impression that one can apply with the conditional offer letter but my agent told me that it's a big no no! You can probably imagine how tensed I am because of this. My classes begin in September so I don't have much time. I contacted my previous university and they sent the new copy to the Canadian university by "International Signed for" service on the 10th of June. This service takes between 5-7 working days.

I was wondering if it would be wise AT ALL to just go on with the application without getting the "conditions cleared" mail from the university?

How should I interpret the following from the CIC site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/students/letter.asp

It says that "Officers are to treat conditional letters of acceptance issued by a designated learning institution as meeting the requirements of R219(1), except where there is serious doubt that registration will be allowed."


P.S. I'm a Bangladeshi applicant applying from Bangladesh.

You can apply with conditional letter. I got a study permit within 2 weeks with conitional letter. It;s not a big issue.

Your agency may cheat you. Dont trust them.

You can apply only if its a conditional acceptance letter, not offer letter.

When you receive a conditional offer letter your receive 3 pages in total. the first page is the conditional acceptance to the program which if you notice is address to you. Pages 2 and 3 clearly mention "To be submitted to the Visa Office" and it mentions the program details, School ID, program cost etc etc.

You are technically only required to submit pages 2 and 3 to the Visa office. At-least that's what my I was told by the Director of International Admissions when i asked them for a change on the offer letter. I have also applied for my visa and awaiting.

What is the difference between acceptance letter and offer letter? I thought they were the same thing.

So according to what Jasen is saying, I should be able to get away with it by sending just the last page of the offer letter.

@J5M Are you suggesting that they will give me another letter which will be "acceptance letter"?

@dental15 My agency isn't deliberately trying to cheat or deceive me. I know that much. However, they can be ignorant about certain things.

I'll talk to them tomorrow and see what they say. If I can get away with sending just the last page of the offer letter that is titled "Immigration Approval Information", may be the condition will have been removed from my offer by the time a VO gets to my file. So if they call the university to verify, they will say that there are no conditions.

By the way, if we didn't have to submit the first part of the letter, why would the CIC website talk at all about conditional offer letters in the link I've posted earlier?

You're thinking about it too much brother. You can submit your application with just the last page, its the page that the VO will need to process your application. The first two pages are only for YOU. They do not need that.

I would say go ahead with your submission. The more you wait the busier it gets and the more you will have to wait for the visa approval. Worst to worst case (Not saying it will happen.. Pretty damn sure) they may ask you to submit the full offer letter (Very Unlikely) and then just add the new documents that the college will issue.

As I had mentioned earlier, I have submitted my application with just the last page, which was double checked by Canadian Council people before submission.

Go ahead! I know many people who got the visa with conditional letter of acceptance. And I am also applying the visa with this letter.
