Applying for visa from Canada?

If I am correct I can apply for a Temp work visa while I wait on PR from inland? We would really prefer not to wait here in the UK. We have the finances available to cover the first year although I would like to start working as soon as I can. And thank you for the advice on lawyer, paid for them the first time we got my wife's UK visa but we done the renewal ourselves. Was only looking at lawyer as I would like to work asap.

The only way for you to be able to work as soon as you arrive in Canada is to get a job offer from a Canadian employer with a positive Labour Market Opinion (an LMO is permission from the government to hire a foreigner instead of a Canadian); with the offer and LMO, you could apply for a work permit. This is very, very difficult to do right now. A lawyer cannot change that for you.

If you apply inland, you only get the work permit AFTER stage 1 approval, which is sitting at 8 months. So for those first 8 months, you are a visitor unable to work.

If you apply outland, after 8 months you will most likely already be a PR.
