My mother's passport expires in 2 years. We want to apply for a visitor visa (family visit < 6m, or maybe super visa). As far as I know the multivisa is given for 10 years. Should she get a new passport or 10 year visa can be stamped in the current passport and then "transferred" to new passport?

A 10 year visa isn't guaranteed. The duration of the TRV will be up to IRCC.

However a TRV cannot be issued for longer than the validity date on the applicant's passport. So if she applies with a passport that expires in 2023, her visa will only be valid until that date.
