Dear Forum member,

I need advise as to what to do in my situation. Our spouse immigration currently in process. Wife will be going to dubai for a visit. Are there any chances she could apply for TRV from there?
Thanking you in advance.

I believe, until you are not a resident of UAE, you can not apply visa for Canada within UAE.

1. She can apply, but as she has no ties there it is unlikely to be issued.

Here it is what CIC Abu Dhabi says,

"Welcome to the Visa Section of the Embassy of Canada in Abu Dhabi.

For information about going to Canada and to find out how to make an application at this office, please refer to our list of services below.

We provide these services to residents, nationals, or persons legally admitted to the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia* and Yemen.

* Temporary Resident Visas for citizens or residents of Saudi Arabia are processed by the Visa Section in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia."

What's your point? We provide these services to residents, nationals, or persons legally admitted to the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia As long as she is legally admitted, then she can apply. She probably won't get it, but she can apply.

Thank you everyone for the reply. Im not exactly sure as what to do.
Legally admitted does count visit visa doesn't it? So if she goes on visit can she apply? I know chances are very limited :(
Please pray for us guys.

Hi,
I am not sure why you would apply from Dubai if she is only going there on a visit?
My husband lives in the EU with a permanent job and house and showed $50 000 in his bank account and has a lot of travel history with a valid visa to the UK. Still he was rejected for all these reasons stated above.
How are you planning on showing ties?
Really wish you guys the best of luck though!

I can understand this process is really very stressful, which is why we tried to get a TRV as well.
We don't regret applying, because now we know at least we tried.
But the thing is TRV is based on providing solid ties and by being in the UAE I am not sure if you will be able to do that.
I am not an expert, but I think you guys would have a better chance at it by applying from Pakistan. That is just my opinion rest is up to you.
I really do wish your wife gets it! :)

Thank you for your reply. :)
We did apply from Pakistan but it was rejected as we didn't show strong ties :(
Problem is that wife has completed her studies and doesnt work. She doesn't have a bank account or any property under her name :(
