Applying for trv from spain with Brazilian passport

Hi there I am new to this website and have been reading posts for a couple days now and found them very helpful. I was wondering if you guys could help me answering a few of the questions I have. So I am a canadian citizen and my boyfriend of 20 years old is a brazilian passport holder currently living in spain for 5 years now with a pr card. I have visited him twice now and he wishes to visit me. He has never travelled anywhere other than his home country and spain of course. We are starting to gather the documents for his application but need some help .
1. He is currently in school and not working so his mother has agreed to support him on the trip just as she does when he is at home. Is this enough ? We have gathered most documents including past bank statements, tax receipts , etc. Also do these bank statements need to be changed from euros to canadian dollars?

2. In the invitation letter my father is going to write should we say he is coming to visit a friend or his girlfriend? and does this need to be notarized ?

3. Is the fact that he's in school enough proof that he will return to spain? What are other things that could help prove he would return?

4. Does the amount of time he's staying effect their decision to grant the visa? It will not be longer than 6 months.

5. will sending copies of my last travels to visit him strengthen ties that we know him well enough?

6. any tips or other documents we should submit to help him get granted the visa?

Is he a minor? If not then his mother supporting him is not good enough. He has to have access to the money without contacting someone else.

No, no need to change EUROs to CAN.

Why would it need to be notarized? No need to do that.

Depends on how you want to play it. I would put a friend. Why do you need your father to write the letter? Are you a minor? The person who writes the letter has to prove the relationship. As far as I can tell you are the owner of the relationship.

3. Is the fact that he's in school enough proof that he will return to spain? It is very hard to get a job there at the moment so that's not an option.

And that would be a problem right? No enough job options in Spain would be a good reason to immigrate to Canada.

Depends on what you can provide, for example a scholarship, or a letter of leave from the school, enrollment letters... how are you going to prove it?

4. Does the amount of time he's staying effect their decision to grant the visa?

Yes, if he says 2 years, it is a no. :

How long is a vacation if you are in school? Think of that.

5. will sending copies of my last travels to visit him strengthen ties that we know him well enough?

Not really but it helps. It is a solid foundation.

6. any tips or other documents we should submit to help him get granted the visa?

Put the money in his account, not in his mother. Use as little third persons as possible (fathers, mothers). Buy the tickets, etc. etc.

But By sending the funds to his account I am guessing we still should send his mothers bank statements since that's where the money is coming from and we will need to prove there are enough funds available. Also I am not a minor but I am currently living with my parents and they would be providing him with food and shelter so we thought my dad writing the invitation letter was a better idea.

And why would you think CIC needs/wants to know where the money is coming from? CIC doesn't care as long as he shows he has money for his travel, that's it.

Food and accommodation... no shelter... hehe, be mindful about the wording!

You are inviting him if I am not mistaken, and you are the one who invited him, therefore the letter should come from you. You can say that your family has agreed to bla bla bla and as proof you attach your father's bank statements. Also he can write a support invitation letter where he states he agrees to what you are saying. But the one who is inviting him is you, so make it clear in your application.

Because after doing a test online to see if he was eligible to apply, one of the supporting documents they listed was the bank statements of who would be providing him money. That's why I thought CIC needs/wants to know where the money is coming from... lol But thank you for the rest of your help.

Not simply "also he can write a letter", he, the father, actually MUST write that letter.
