Hi there,
Last time i applied for my mother's visa was over 5 years ago when she came for my wedding. Now im applying again and im finding it a bit confusing as some documents changed as well as having the embassy move out of Venezuela.
I have a couple of questions and was hoping someone here would have some answers.
- I dont see anywhere an option to choose between single and multiple entry visa, is it now to the discretion of the immigration officer ? It used to be an option in one of the forms and i cant find it anymore.
- According to the page on the cic.gc.ca where the documents required to apply from Venezuela are shown, one of the documents linked ( IMM5878E.pdf ) has to do with with the respective visa office instructions, which in this case is the embassy in Mexico.
Now, looking at this PDF, it says that documents are allowed in Spanish as well, this has me confused as everywhere else on the cic.gc site it says that documents must be translated. I was wondering then what to do.
This PDF also has a section which states 'CAN+ If you have travelled to Canada or to the United States in the last ten (10) years and can provide evidence (entry stamps in passport, copy of your US Border Crossing card), no proof of financial support is required.' . I'm not sure if this applies to all applicants or only mexicans. This information is not clear at all.
- In case I do have to present any relevant documents translated, I would get my mother to do that in Venezuela. Could it be done with any notary ?, Are there some guidelines to follow as to how to proceed with the translation?
- Going back to the page where the documents for Venezuela are shown, there is this one: Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union [IMM 5409], i assume that if this doesnt apply to my mother, we dont have to send this document ?
