Applying for temporary work permit - again!

Hi guys!

I'm a 20 year old girl who moved to Canada in late April 2012 on a working holiday visa. When my visa was close to expiring in the beginning of April 2013 I wasn't ready to leave so I applied for an extension of my work permit with the hope of just obtaining implied status for two months after which I planned on returning home to Denmark anyway. Merely days before my flight home I received the news that my application had been refused, no surprise to me and of no importance either since I was going home. I've been home for a month now and is desperately looking in to ways of possibly going back to Canada on another temporary work permit - any suggestions on how this can be done?

HI,

I received a refusal letter yesterday july 16,2013 for my application of my open work permit. They told me that i can apply for OWP again but i have to pay the fee 350 dollars. My question is should i have to pay for the restoration even if my current work permit is still valid until september 11,2013?

If allowed, you can try applying for a second working holiday visa. Alternatively, you will need to obtain a job offer from an employer in Canada, then that employer will have to obtain an approved labour market opinion and then you will be able to apply for a work permit tied to that specific employer.

@ Jos19, try applying for second working holiday visa as finding a job with an employer who will get a LMO for you will be difficult.

@ eula, NO. you need to apply for a restoration only once your work permit expires.

Thank you for the info. Second working holiday visa? Is this the entry visa you are talking about? I already have my entry visa.

Isn't your visa already expired? If you are referring to another visitor visa you got then you won't be able to work on that visa. There are 3 options for young students to come and work in Canada for a shorter time period, namely, working holiday, young professionals and working coop.

Unfortunately, only working holiday option is available for citizens of Denmark (Source : http://www.international.gc.ca/experience/intro_incoming-intro_entrant.aspx?lang=eng). When I checked the details I came across the requirements which suggests that you cannot apply for second working holiday (since you have previously applied for working holiday) (Source: Last bullet point on http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/denmark-danemark/experience_canada_experience/working_holiday-vacances_travail.aspx)

So the only options that I can think of are:
1) Find a job with an employer who will get a LMO for you and apply for a work permit with LMO.
2) Enroll yourself in a study program, apply and obtain a study permit and you will be able to obtain an off campus work permit once you complete 6 months of your studies (valid for working 20 hours/week during studies and full time during breaks)

Option 2 is useful in case you are will to immigrate to Canada. Thanks.
