Hi there,
I would like to need your help. My mom 75 years old now living with me. I would like to apply super visa for her within Canada. Because I don’t want to go back my hometown ( 21 hours flight) and also no one there. My father just passed away. Her passport and visa will expired Sept 2025. I was extended her record till May 2025 she has to leave Canada. What should I do? I really want her to stay with me because 2 reasons: she too old for flighting and me and my 2 sons need her.
Thanks for your reading!
First, you need to renew her passport once it's available to do so. You can try to extend her stay again once she has a new passport with a later expiry date.
But eventually, she needs to go back home. She is still a visitor here. And if she needs more health treatments, you will likely need to pay out of pocket unless it's an emergency. (Make sure she has good health insurance coverage for the time being)
FYI. We paid over 50k for my MIL's treatment on top of the "emergency" part that was paid by insurance. And that was years ago. (so it will only get more expensive now)
You need to plan for her care in home country eventually. No new PGP application in 2025. And who knows how long it will take for the start of new PGP applications.
