Applying for Study Permit

Hi, I got accepted in Dalhousie University for bachelors of Computer Science for winter sessions 2021 (this coming jan). Now the problem is that there’s not much time left and the visa procedure’s gonna take 2-3 months at least so I was thinking of applying through SDS but I’m worried that would the university refund the fees if my visa got rejected. Also, in 2017 I applied for a USA visa which got rejected, I was applying with my school group to attend an MUN. I had no one to guide me and had no idea what to say to the interviewer so when she asked me why I want to go to USA, I gave a dumb answer by saying that I love USA and always wanted to go there so I understand why my visa got refused but I never got the refusal letter and I don’t know the official reason of rejection, in fact I don’t have any document of my visa rejection, the only thing I know is the date it got rejected. I’ve read that they ask you about your previous visa rejections and the reason it got rejected and I don’t know about it. I don’t intend to hide or lie about anything but I’m scared that not remembering much about my previous visa rejection including the reason it got rejected and hence not being able to answer their questions properly might somehow fall under the category of misrepresentation.

You must confirm from university, all have different refund policies.
You should try to ask your teacher or organization about refusal reasons, or you can mention that simply that during MUN, students were rejected or accepted. Don't complicate it otherwise. But do mention that you do not want to hide anything and officially all record can be checked.

I have jz received my LOA from VCC college and the program will start in Aug2021. I have a multiple entry visitor visa and my passport will expire in Jan 2022. My question is I should renew my pp before applying for study permit because it will only have 3 month duration if I use my old pp. If I renew my pp and my study permits rejects, my visitor visa will be gone. So I am worried and advise me how to do.
Thanks

I don’t think it’s possible to get the refusal reason now, it was almost 4 years ago. Is it okay to say that I dont remember the reason rather than something that could end up as a false reason or a lie. Also, are there any documents needed to be attached or shown of my refused visa while applying.
