Applying for student visa while immigration in process

Hi all,

I've applied for Canada immigration as a skilled worker a few months ago. As the process is very long, I want to apply for a student visa. I know that this is possible but my questions are:

1) If I receive a study permit, is my wife given a visa too for accompanying me?

2) Can my wife work/study in Canada while I'm studying there?

3) Is my immigration process accelerated when I'm there?
