Applying for second Canadian Work Permit - Don't know my old Client ID

Hi all,

I had a Canadian Work Permit from June 2011 to June 2012. I now want to apply for another one again this year, but they require my old Client ID number. I cannot progress with my new application without providing this number. I have no idea what my Client ID number was. Unfortunately I never noted it and I don't have any document that displays it. In June 2012 when I was leaving Canada the border agent took the physical work permit from my passport. What should I do now? Is there any way I can find out what my Client ID number was or anyone I can contact who can give me this number?

Thanks.

There is only one client ID for all your communication with CIC. If you can trace any e-mail or letter from CIC, or any other docuemnt issued by them, you probably can find out.
Contact the office where you get your WP, if they are kind enough, after thousand of questions, you may find it out. Otherwise call the CIC centre and see if they will share that information, but usually, ID is the first thing they ask for.

Otherwise you have to request it, but if you are not in Canada, you probably need to use a lawyer from Canada.
