Hi all,

I just wondered if you know anything about this. We have been in the pool nearly a year now, and were just about to give up on any hope of getting through when we received notification from OOPNP that they were going to put us through with the 600 points.

We waited so long that in the end we started applying for work elsewhere, and I have now actually landed a job in Hong Kong. The company in Hong Kong are in the process of applying for my visa, so I will be out there for December. OF COURSE during this time (today to be specific) Canada have got in touch with their good news ::) You wait all day for a bus, then three come along at once.... ???

So, what I wanted to know was, is it still OK for me to go to Hong Kong? I haven't yet accepted the offer from OOPNP, but if I do, and EE get in touch with an ITA, it would be amazing if I could work for a year in Hong Kong and then come to Canada (given that I can wait nearly a year until my medicals run out). Can I have two visa applications for different countries processing at once? (my HK visa is just a working visa, whereas Canada is permanent). If not, Am I still OK to go ahead with my HK visa, and just stay in the EE pool?

Thank you very much people!

You can most certainly have both of those cakes and eat them together.

Nothing stops you from moving to HK while your EE application is being processed. Just ensure you have access to all the required documents to be uploaded post ITA in case you move before filing your application. Depending on when you get your ITA, you'll have to change your address to the one in HK at some point in time and that's pretty much it. Nothing else changes.

All the best!

also, its unlikely given that with the extra 600 you should be pulled in the next draw, but if the application processing takes a while you might need to get a HK police cert at some point.
