Hello All,

I will be landing in Montreal on 18th Dec 2011. I am not exactly sure how can I apply for PR cards for myself and my family. Does the process of applying take place at the airport or will I need to go to the service canada office the next day since 18th is a sunday?

My second question is that i have to look for schools for my kids in Quebec and Ontario. Is there a website where I can go and check the school rating to decide so that I can then rent an apartment in that area?

Thanks

:)

You don't apply for the PR cards separately. The applications will be automatically submitted as part of your landing process.

We are also landing in Montreal on 18th Dec 2011 ! (from the UK) :p

I wondered the same thing regarding landing on a Sunday but after making a few enquiries and speaking to CBSA, I was advised all PR formalities are completed at the airport with immigration officers who work 7 days a week.

We haven't got kids so not sure about the schools question :)

It appears that you did not inform the visa office about the change in your family composition immediately after marriage before landing. You should have added your wife to your application. Landing without doing so will be treated as making misrepresentation to CIC. I think you will not be able to sponsor your spouse to Canada.

not sure if this applies to your situation, but when I got the letter that let me know my PR visa was ready for issuance, it tells you not to send in your passport and to notify CIC if you plan on getting married in the near future..

Not sure what they will do for your case though.
