Applying for PR at Canada

Hi,

I finished my B.Tech IT with 72% and having around 3.5 years of experience in software development. I am thinking to look for a job at canada. Where do i need to start? Am i applicable for applying PR? Is it possible to apply PR on my own without any consultant help?
