Applying for PCC

Hi , I am in Canada on a closed work permit since November 2013 and i am planning to apply for my PR in November 2014.
Could someone please clarify the validity of a Police Clearance Certificate ( India ) and also the process involved in applying for one ?

You can apply India PCC thro BLS India. Refer the following link. Generally it will take around 4 weeks to get the PCC.

Does it really take 4 weeks for Indian PCC from Canada? I heard that it generally says 4 to 6 weeks but mostly within 2 weeks it will be done? Any folks got early who applied recently?

I got in 3 weeks from BLS Edmonton.

when i applied first time in june i got in 5 days....when i applied again in july but havent received yet....

Is PCC valid for just three months ? i am planning to apply for my PR in November. Is it better to get it now or late september ?
