hi my wife and I submitted a application for her to come to live in Canada as my wife, the application takes about 12-15 months to be approved, I wan her to come visit me here, what kind of application would be the best one to apply for? some people say she will be automatically denied because she has strong ties here but there must be a way. they don't expect me to be away from my wife for 15 months.

Assuming she is not visa exempt, she will need to apply for a tourist visa (TRV).

Unfortunately there is a good chance the TRV will be refused. To be approved, a person must show they have strong ties to their home country and have no plans to remain in Canada long term. This is difficult to prove when an individual has a spouse in Canada and has already applied for PR.

Having said that, by all means give it a try - you might get lucky.

To be more successful in visitors visa I suggest to buy visitors to Canada insurance http://arbetovinsurance.com/gms-visitors-to-canada-medical-emergency-insurance for the term of her visit. Travel to Canada medical insurance can really help to increase your chances to get visitors visa. You should also show the fly back to the country of origin ticket. Good luck.

I seriously doubt that the VO would approve a visa that lacked all the necessary proof of strong ties and compelling reasons to leave Canada before the visa expiry just because airfare and insurance had been pre- purchased. Has anyone seen this on an official CIC website?

Answer me one question: Regardless of what ties a woman has to her home country, the minute she marries a Canadian Citizen and he applies to sponsor her, doesn't that proof she is WILLING TO LEAVE THOSE TIES BEHIND AND MOVE TO CANADA????

Is there ever a tie that is stronger than the tie to your SPOUSE?

This is a clear case of Dual Intent. Cover letter outlining what ties there are to home and commitment to abide by the laws of Canada to leave before the visa expiry so as not to jeopardize the submitted PR application.

Hi I just applied for my husband to visit while we wait for his permanent residence and was refused in less than 24 hours.

I applied online and just got a generic refusal letter. I'm assuming because he does plan to live here they were not convinced he wouldn't go home.

There are plenty of people here, myself included, that have got TRV for their spouse after applying for PR. Definitely go ahead give it a shot. My theory: It all depends on the VO whose desk your file lands on. I gave minimal ties. Wrote an affidavit that she'll leave when her time expires and I got a multiple visa for 4 years.

I'll say it's just your luck. There are many people here who have given plenty of proof ties to the home country and gotten refused. Each case is different. So, in a nutshell, put together the application and apply.

I am on student visa , infact i landed last month end . I am planing to apply TRV for my wife . Do u think its too early ??
I hav plans to bring her here on TRV and later convert it into OWP . So like u said if i keep an affidavt will it be a problem while we try to apply for OWP??

2. I think it is more important to show proof of your employment and salary rather than one bank statement. Ask your employer to write an employment letter for you.
