Applying for IT Jobs in Canada before landing procedure

Seniors,

I am about to receive my stamped passports back from CPC-O under 7121 and I think this is about that time to start looking for job opportunities in CA IT Fields.

I want to go for landing procedure as soon as I land a job as well. my current job is related to IT software development and want to start the job hunting procedure for the same.

Anyone with the detailed step by step instructions or suggestions would be a great help!

I think you mean 2171.

If You're moving from US to Canada, be prepared to see big drop in the number of jobs, the good thing is that you will be able to do independent contracting or corp to corp, but I would suggest to try to see if if you can transfer from your current employer

That can be done by finding a project in Canada and then ask for the transfer.

IT job market pays decent in Canada, but the problem is the jobs are less and India in particular is full of IT grads who move to Canada.

Even I am in the same boat. I have nearly 5 years of IT development experience and want to get a job first before I land in Canada. I am currently based in India. Any idea what should be the best approach in this case?

Thank you singh84a, I like your suggestion, I will try to find the job through various sources and try working there as consultant.

Since My current employer is consulting company, I should be able to keep this job even after moving to Canada if i find any project there.

Which consulting company are u in. if the Big 4/5 , there are definitely projects in Canada.

Its not big 4/5, it is based on US and have about 400+ employees, I am trying to see if they have any CA Client that i can work from Client Location.

I will update this post once i have the solution to this
