Applying for EE, should we apply for OINP?

We have all the requirements for the OINP as far as I can tell.

Besides the $1500 extra expense is there any disadvantage?

We prefer Toronto anyway.

OINP route takes more time, plus they have to send you NOI "Notification of Interest"

Thanks and good luck!

I see.

EE is a must so we are going for that, isn't there a chance that Ontario nominates you as a PNP while in the EE pool?

Say you apply to both, you get the ITA first can't you just go ahead with that and forget about the OINP?

Thanks,

as others said.. when you create your EE profile , you will have to choose Ontario as the preferred province.. Only OINP picks your profile from EE then you get a 'NOI' to apply.. (the key word is 'Only', meaning it is kind of a lottery system not 100% sure you will get).

Thanks GOTODXB,

Aha, cause I'm quite familiar with the EE but not the OINP. We were gonna pick Ontario as a province of interest anyway, so thats all we gotta do?

If we are eligible they will let us know through the NOI.

If thats the case that simplifies matter a lot. Wasn't sure how to make our profile "visible" to the OINP. Basically its automatic if you click interested in "Ontario".

We have 450 points now, my wife as the primary.

She will get those 30 extra points in June and I have Canadian siblings so 15 more should be added.

Im expecting 495 points by June (hopefully).

Take whatever you get. $1500 is a lot of money plus it is time consuming to wait for PNP. Consider it an investment into your future in Canada. Enter the pool as soon as you can. When your wife gets her language scores, you can update your profile. Don't wait until June for the extra points. Like you, there will be many others whose scores will get bumped up thereby increasing the cut off.

xpressentry,

Thanks. I agree don't want to miss the opportunity just to save money.

So I will go for the OINP then.
