I understand that an individual can apply for a conditional work permit if they are going through the inland sponsorship? Could anyone please let me know how quickly such a permit would arrive after applying? I'd like to continue in my current job.

Regards :)

4 months without work? Wow!

So I understand I can apply straight away, and I can keep it until a final decision is made?

You can submit your OWP application with you PR application. 4 months is the maximum time, some people get through before. I also believe you can continue working

Can I keep working if my permit expires? How do I prove this to my employer?
Yes, if you applied for a work permit extension before your work permit expired, you can keep working until a decision is made on your application.

You must stay in Canada and meet the conditions of your original work permit. For instance, if you have an employer-specific work permit, you must still work for the employer named on that permit.

CIC does not provide confirmation that you have implied status in Canada. However, you should keep proof that you submitted the application before your work permit expired. This includes copies of the application, the fee receipt, and something that confirms the date it was sent and delivered.

So I can apply for PR and continue to work at the same job? That would be wonderful!
The only problem is is that my current work permit will be a few days away from being up by the time we have 12 months living together?

I guess sending my application in one or two months early to be able to continue working would not go down too well?

We also lived at her mums place for two months. Not sure how we'd prove that?

You'll be automatically refused if you submit your application early. You cannot apply as common law unless you have lived together for a minimum of one full year. One option would be to get married.

How could I prove I lived with her at her mothers?
Ask her mom to write it in a letter and join it to your application.

Have you gone through the document checklist? All the info is there. Also read the complete guide.
