Hi there,
I am a Canadian resident who is eligible to apply for citizenship. I've tried calling the hotline (which has recently changed) and also looked on CIC's website with no luck. I have recently gotten married and my residency card has my maiden name on it but I changed my last name. Anyone else been in this situation and know what I need to do to be able to apply for citizenship under my married name?
Thanks

how about your passport?

I actually reached someone at immigration who gave me the answers. They basically said when applying there is a part on the form for name change. You just need to send through a copy of the wedding certificate and a provincial id with your new name. Thanks though :)

That's correct.. you must send a copy of your marriage certificate, as well as supporting identification in your married name. The supporting identification must be issued by a federal, provincial, territorial, or state authority, it must be valid, and it must include your name, date of birth, sex, photo and signature...

Good luck!
