Hi Everyone, I have few questions regarding citizenship application.

I become PR on July 29, 2015 and have never lived outside Canada till todate (Oct 2018). I went outside Canada for 3 weeks only to see my siblings. In this case, while filling citizenship form, I am confused about following. Would appreciate if someone can clarify.
(1) After calculating duration from online calculator, I found my eligibility period is from 2013-Oct-14 to 2018-Oct-14. So, as per form, if I have lived outside of Canada, I need to select Yes or No, I assume I have to select Yes because of 2013. so if I select Yes then I need to fill ICT 0177 form, my question is should I write on top of the form as "Not applicable" and attach a note saying, I became PR on 2015, so it is not applicable? Please let me know your thoughts.
(2) my second question is regarding Police Clearance Certificate, as per citizenship form, it says if you have lived out of Canada in last 4 years for 183 days, then you need to submit PCC. what should I say Yes or No. If I select Yes, then I lived in Saudi Arabia, so shall I say it is not possible to get PCC from KSA? Please let me know your thoughts.

A: People deal with this form in different ways. In my opinion, the best practice is selecting yes, then sending form ICT 0177 indicating not applicable (because you are not crown servant or accompanying a crown servant etc). Please note this has NOTHING to do with the date in which you became a PR!

A: You are not providing enough in formation. Did you spend more than 183 days in Saudi Arabia Between Oct 14, 2014 and October 14, 2018? If so, then YES, you need to submit the PCC.
I am not aware of the particulars of getting a PCC from KSA, but you should check the immigration website, as they do have instructions on how to acquire PCCs from all of the countries in the world. If they require the PCC, then you have to get it.

Thank you. I checked from IRCC website and it is mentioned there I don't need to provide it from KSA.
Oh great! If so, then you're good to go :D

Thanks Yes.

on a same note, I have photocopy of expired IELTS, the original was submited to IRCC 3 years back when I was applying for PR.
so I have a question regarding proof of language requirement. I have bachelor degree from Pakistan. So, can I submit copy of my degree and transcript instead of expired IELTS? will that work

You should submit the expired IELTS result, NOT your degree and transcript from Pakistan, unless your entire program was completed in English (and you need to submit a letter from the institution stating that it was).

Check out the GUIDE, they go in detail about the language proof they accept.

Yes, my complete program was in English.

So can I submit both e.g. expired IELTS as well as copy of my degree and transcript? My degree and Transcripts are in English

Below mentioned is as per IRCC website.

  1. You attended or are currently attending a secondary or post-secondary education program in English or French, either in Canada or abroad.
    • A degree, diploma, certificate or official transcripts from a secondary or post-secondary education program showing you studied in English or French, in Canada or abroad.
    • If the original document is in a different language, include:
      • a letter from the school showing that the language of instruction was in English or French along with
      • an official translation of the original document and
      • the address and contact information (phone number) of the education institution

so can I submit expired IELTS along with my degree and transcript as mine were in english? or I should submit one document instead of both. Any suggestions?

Hi
EstherBarros, one question regarding LINC certificate. My wife took Govt funded English Language class and got her CLB certificate 4,4, 5,5. So, I guess If I submit the copy of her LINC certificate with her application, that should be enough? correct?

so in Question 15 of the form, below should be answers.
15 (a) Yes (first line)
15 (a) no (second line)
15 (b) no
15 (c) no.

Can you please share your thoughts?

I have query regarding question6.

Regarding Question # 6: List all the names you have used, including name at birth, maiden name, previously married names,, nicknames?

In my case, I never used any other names so I guess I have to fill first row (last name and first name) and from dropbox select name at birth, is that Correct?

In my wife's case, before marriage, her last name was her father's family name. But, after marriage her last name was changed to my first name and since then it has been used every where on all immigration documents and passport because we applied for immigration after marriage. However, I just realized while looking back in my immigration document for dependent applicant (my wife), there was a question in the form for dependent applicant, if you have used any other name, nick name, maiden name, alias, if Yes, mention below, if NO, then leave it. We selected NO and didn't write anything.

Now, when I am filing citizenship application, what should I do in this case, do I need to fill second row for her with the details of her previous name and select maiden name from the drop box? For the row-1, I will write her name as of current legal name. My question is name before marriage. Please let me know.
