Only 300 applications are being accepted for each occupation (including 2147). CIC started accepting application at the beginning of May and more than 300 applications for 2147 have certainly been received by now (in fact, it's likely the 300 cap was reached in May). Go ahead and submit your application if you still want to. However you should expect that it will be returned to you unprocessed because the cap has been reached.

Thanks for your post, I would like to apply/try my luck. Do you have a direct link to apply,

I browse the immigration site but I found if we are applying from out side of CANADA (in my case from India), we need to mail/post application?, tell me if I am wrong.

waiting for your reply/links to apply.

Thanks

Ok. Here is a link to start you off, but Scylla has given you good advice already. Those who have been around this Forum have learned how quickly the popular NOC categories fill. It is expensive to put together an application, not to mention time consuming. Have you already had your education credentials evaluated by the approved authorities? Taken an IELTS test for English proficiency that is less than two years old? Obtained education documents from the Ed institutions in sealed envelopes? Obtained reference letters from past employers fully documenting your duties, salary and duration and hours of service?
Once the NOC is filled for this year, the next option is to get a job offer. A challenge and the employer has to prove they were unable to fill the position locally. They get approval with an LMO ( labour market opinion). Then you apply for a work permit/temporary resident visa. In order to get that you must have strong ties to India like property, well paying permanent job, spouse and children, etc. Lots of steps. Ask your consultant for all the options available to you. Good luck.

Applications we will accept – Federal skilled workers
Note: Due to the large number of applications we get, we cannot check that each one is complete on the same day it gets to the office. The numbers on this page are updated at least once a week, but are only a guide. There is no guarantee that an application sent in now will fall within the cap by the time it gets to the Centralized Intake Office.

hi bharat. . . .
first you take IELTS and ensure minimum 6 band in each module
and meanwhile apply for ECA.
let this two finish than you proceed further.

I also advise the same as others that NOC 2174 must be filled by now.

Hi Scylla,

I am from India and would like to apply for Canada FSWP PR Visa.

I am a Software Engineer (Development) and i believe i will fall under category code 2174. What is the current Cap limit ?

I have written IELTS and got 6.5 minimum in each of the modules. I am about to apply for ECA from WES.

Is there any restrictions on the Spouse IELTS score . Is it compulsory ?

I got the following link to get the status on the cap limit.

cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp

Is this information is correct and up to date ?

Please let me know your valuable advice and suggestions.

Regards,
Satya

Hi Bha2can,

NOC 2174 is Extremely popular one, there is every chance that it is filled by now. anyhow, Cap limit is 300 for each NOC, You can apply if you wish:-
First you need to determine eligibility,

If, you meet the 67 points criteria on your own, you may not be required to give spouse Ielts Score. (there is no min. requirement of Spouse IELTS for eligibilty ) Check your score here:

The CIC cap limit link is not up to date, as there are delays in processing. and it has not been updated since 24 june,2013

Hi @Pippin & all,

Thanks for all your reples :), today I got call from the consultancy who earlier contacted me for Canada Visa processing saying that....under the NOC 2147, the Canada Immigration service has accepted only 68 applications till now, is that possible that we can check how many applications that Canada Immigration have got/accepted so far?. If not how did he know that then?.

He also said it is not how many applications they received but how many accepted that counts?.

waiting for your reply

Thanks

don't relay on consultant.
Most of them r fraud.
CIC process is very easyif ur elligable.
no need to hire consultant, they r just for consuming heafty amount from client.
wat they do is only fill a form for you & trust me they can'nt do more than that.

The question you want answered is about number of applications and anyone can access that through the official CIC site. Also there are threads on forum where it is being posted. Sorry I don't have links handy. The problem is that the numbers look small out of the 300 allowed but it doesn't mean that there aren't many hundreds in piles waiting to be opened. We just don't know. Find the threads on forum and you will see others are figuring out which day they are working on. In past years we figured out that the Forum users represent approx 4% of the total global applicants. So if you figure out how many on forum have already applied for a NOC it gives you a rough idea of how many are piled up at CIC.
