Applying for a visitor visa from another (third) country. Please advise!!!

I am planning to visit Canada in November. According to the official website, the processing time for a visitor visa when applying from my home country (Uzbekistan) is about 350 days.

As I am traveling to Indonesia on holiday for 1 month in September, I would like to use this chance to apply for a visitor visa while I am there. I have seen that the processing time when applying from Indonesia is only 12 days.

I know that it is legally possible, however, any advice and tips on important things to consider are appreciated. I am new to this and do not know much about the process, please let me know if applying from a third country has some negative sides.

Please share your experience for others to benefit.

Thank you very much for your advice in advance.

The 12 day processing time is an estimate, not a guarantee. Since you are applying as a third country applicant, there is a chance applying in Indonesia may exceed the usual processing times.

Thank you so much for your reply. Yes, i understand it an estimate however it is still good even if it takes 1 month.
Is there any complexities or risks associated with applying from third country ? Or maybe refusal rate is high ?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

If you have a valid reason to apply from Indonesia then you shouldn't have problem. E.g. you are in Indonesia and you have to visit Canada directly from Indonesia due to a business requirement or a urgent issue then it wont be a problem.

You will need to provide a letter of explaination to why you are applying from Indonesia along with some proof.

Note they try to meet the 12 Day processing time but it is not a guarantee since you they may need to conduct more checks for you.

The processing time if i apply is 350 days does this mean that it will take so long?
I have 4.5 month until planned visit, I am very confused if i can obtain a visitor visa. I am planning to visit trade fair.
Thank you for your advice.

If you read the fineprint, it says 80% of the applications are processed within 350 days it may take longer or may be done within a week. No one can say how long a case could take. Each application is different.

Thank you everybody for your advice. The event that i plan to participate is on 3rd of November. That is the purpose of my visit. Suppose my application is not finalized by 3rd of November, will my visa be refused then based on my purpose of visit ?
