Hi,
Please if someone had a similar case, I'd appreciate some advice:
I had invited my dad to stay with us and we sent him an invitation and he did all the paperwork and got a visa for 6months and now 5 years has passed and we want to invite him over, but he needs to get a new visa.
Since he already had acquired a visa, would he have to do all that paper work again?
(he is living in Iran) would there be a way that we, or he can apply online and don't do all the paper work again?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Your dad needs to apply from scratch for a new visa.

Yes, complete paperwork again to prove his current strong ties to Iran + he can afford the visit on his own + he will return to Iran at the end of a short stay.

Do be aware that as your dad was issued a short validity TRV (6 months only) for his previous application, IRCC was not convinced he was a genuine visitor but yet gave him a chance. It is a different matter if he was issued a short validity because his passport was expiring also in 6 months. That said, if it was the first scenario, your dad must prepare a solid, convincing application this time
