Applying for 1 yr certificate after 10 year study gap, I did a 1 yr diploma course back then.

I completed a 1 year diploma course 10 years ago(IT technician) and haven't studied at a college since then.
I am now applying for a 1 year certificate course(web design) at a Canadian college.
I have 10 years experience doing IT support and wish to study web design.


I am concerned that I wont be seen as genuine student because of my choice of program since I should rather be taking a 2/3 year diploma or a degree but this is what I can afford.
I want to do a one year pgwp after the course and then return back to my country

what are your opinions on this situation?
