Hello everyone
I am going on my maternity leave probably mid June and at the same time I want to apply for my PR through federal skilled worker visa but I am afraid that there is criteria for me to be working full time at the time of application and while processing the application.. does someone have the same experience? I do have all points, exams everything
My hubby just pointed out today that what if the job offer which I have now from my current employer doesn’t count while I am on my maternity leave, please help
Thank you Monika

You don't need to be working at the time of submitting your application. You need to meet the FSW criteria, which states that you need 1 year of continuous, full-time, skilled work in the past 10 years.

If you meet this criteria, you will qualify. You can even be currently unemployed.

However, depending on when your baby is due, you may need to defer your medical exam till after your delivery. Search the forum for "Express Entry + pregnant" and you'll find lots of threads on how this works.

hi.I want to apply for alberta opportunity stream but I am on maternity leave right now.
in order to apply I need to have 6 months full timejob experience.

I'm Currently a PGWP holder and my permit will expire in Feb 2025

In the past 18 months, I already have 6 months of full-time work experience from July 2022 to April 2023 and other requirements ready. I went on maternity leave in May 2023 up until now.

1.)Can I submit my AOS application now or should I wait til I come back to work again?

2.)Can I submit my old 6 months pay stub together with my E.I statement (to support that I'm working full-time before my matleave) and considering that I am still employed to the same employer and will be back to work in June 2024.
