Hello,
I have done nikkah in Pakistan where a proper reception took place and my ruksati going to be happening in February inshAllah. What i wanted to ask here was if its okay to apply now and tell them the date of the ruksati or wait till the ruksati is done and then apply. I wanted to get opinions here?

Thanks.

If you have marriage certificate at your hand, you can apply now.

Yes I know I can, but previously i did read people's comments who said that its better to apply after ruksati..I was wondering if anyone else had faced any kind of objections on applying with Nikkah only?

I wonder their experience were in which context, but as far as you have Marriage certificate they do not ask if 'rukhsati' has been done or not.

They only get suspicious if they feel if its a sham marriage for the sole purpose of immigration.

Well if you see their application form, they have included the word ruksati. In the previous thread i created, most of the people also recommended to do the complete marriage with ruksati and then apply. I just wanted to know if someone face any objections with nikkah only!

Ruksati is traditional and it has nothing to do with paper work.
If marriage is legal and you have some photos or video as a proof than you are good.

OP is asking about spousal sponsorship. For spousal sponsorship you need to wait until after rukhsati. Plenty of evidence of what happens when you don't over in the Family Sponsorship section of the program. CIC wants to see the traditional ceremony has happened before they'll approval a spousal sponsorship Without rukhsati, you should be expecting a refusal or at a minimum, significantly longer processing times.

wow what exactly is a rukhsati ??

if you have a marriage certificate, sufficient proof stating your marriage is legal and binding and you are infact living together, then it should be fine... thats my understanding but i really have little idea what that term means

For spousal sponsorship, CIC is looking to verify the marriage is genuine. In some cultures, it is normal to have both a legal and cultural ceremony. And it's often the second ceremony that makes the marriage "real" from the perspective of the family and friends. If you are from one of these cultures and apply after only completing the legal part, there's a very chance of refusal. Again, lots of evidence of this in the Family Sponsorship section of the forum to support this. It is absolutely not advised to sponsor a spouse until after rukhsati has been done.

You can file your case now, just mention truthfully in the form that rukhsati ceremony is not held yet. at the final stage of processing they will ask you to perform the rukhsati ceremony and send them the proofs. That's what happened with me I applied in Dec 2015, cic asked for rukhsati proof in Oct 2016 now my status is decision made.

Again, OP is applying through spousal sponsorship - not an economic stream. What you are suggesting won't work for spousal sponsorship and isn't relevant advice for the OP's situation.
