Does anyone have any links or a guide that I can use to make sure I'm filling out my end right? A lot of the forms seem repetitive and confusing on my end.

I found a lot of stuff that has helped my husband tremendously. I cannot thank you guys enough.

read the first post by Leon, then print the guideline for applicants from CIC website and go over the form one by one, with the guideline next to you. It will start to make sense eventually... if you have one question in particular where you get stuck, come back here and ask.
Don't forget to download your region specific guideline, as there are variations depending on visa offices.
Good luck,

Just a word of caution: check carefully from time to time that the guides and forms you download are current. They are revised from time to time and the fact that they have been revised is not always obvious. By way of example only I mention that the guide to IMM 0008 and 5669 I downloaded on 15/7/2012 read with respect to question 8 in IMM 5669 < Provide the details of your personal history since the age of 18 or the past 10 years, whichever comes first> and the guide ended by stating that it had been modified on 8/7/11. After wasting a lot of time in drawing up a life history since the age of 18 (in my case over 50 years' worth!) I noticed that form IMM 5669 (12/2012 edition: bottom left corner) instructed the applicant to provide the personal history <since the age of 18 or the past 10 years whichever is most recent>. The guide now on the internet still states that it was modified on 8/7/11 but the Guide with regard to question 8 has been modified later than that to read the same as the form, but without mentioning the later revision Also beware of confusing Form IMM 0008DEP entitled Additional Dependants/Declaration Form, which will only apply to additional dependants, with Form IMM 5406 entitled Additional Family Information, which is not concerned with dependants alone, which is required in every case (a fact which only appears in the checklist) and which is not mentioned at all in the Guide to IMM 0008. So you have to be alert to inconsistencies and revisions or you may waste a lot of time and energy!
