I have many Filipino friends and coworkers, and lots of them tell me in their country, many people don't want to declare their spouses and children, because when they were being sponsored by their relative, one of the conditions is that the applicant cannot be married or have any dependent children. If they declared spouse or children, their own PR would be refused, so they have to lie in order to get PR. So to many Filipinos, they choose to give themselves PR, and hope one day to sponsor their families, but a lot of them don't seem to realize that if you don't declare your family, there is 0% chance to sponsor them as family class, not even the Prime Minster can reverse that decision.

You can even see by the OP's own admission, that the reason he didn't declare his family was because his brother was sponsoring him. I've seen way too many of these cases coming from the Filipino side. The common "I didn't know I was supposed to , or I forgot to declare" usually is an invalid excuse becuase the landing papers clearly ask if you have a spouse or children. It's hard to "forget" you have a spouse or child.

Boramz, I suggest your wife come to Canada as a live-in caregiver, because I read somewhere that 80% of live-in caregiver applicants are from Philippines, so it seems that's a popular route to enter Canada for many Filipino women? And I read you don't even need formal education, just some experience. Your wife can't enter Canada through you, she has no choice but to apply as a skiled worker/caregiver, etc
