Hi All, I got married in December and just preparing all our documents for the spousal sponsorship. I know this is a long shot since it might take up to 12 months for the whole process. Now as she is Bangladeshi and currently unemployed, the chance of getting a visitor visa is very slim.

But even if we want to try for that, do you recommend applying before the whole PR application process has started stating that we want to see each other for a short time if possible and we are going to lodge our application soon anyway.

Or, rather do the application and then apply for the visa saying we have lodged our application but while this is a long process so she wants to come to visit me for a short period if possible.

Have any of you had luck in this way? If so, prior or post the PR application?

In my opinion, it will be very slim chance for her to get a Trv with no job tight now, with a husband in Canada. She would have to show ties that she would go back to. It may be a very small chance after you have applied for PR to be better, but in all honesty if it were so easy, all of our spouses would be here. I dont want to discourage you from trying, but it's very slim to none.

Thanks Sarah, I can understand that.

We tried twice and got refused. But if you can afford losing the fees trying is the only way to be sure..
As said here before the chance is almost zero.

Don’t bother wasting ur time and money ! Even if she gets approved which is a very low hope , her visit might delay the entire sponsorship processing and make it longer ! Focus on the application now and don’t get ur self distracted!
