I am trying to apply visit visa for my mother, the current passport will expire in April 2023. Is there any issue when applying passport validity is 1 year.
Will the visit visa only be valid for passport duration

Not an issue. Visit visas can be valid for up to 6 months.

visit visas are usually granted upto the validity of passports or biometric which ever is earlier ( though there has been cases where these are valid for years n only few months visa was stamped). i would recommend to get the passport renewed (if its possible at this time) n then apply, because by the time you get approval n visa stamped, it will be month of march n max they will stamp visa only till April 2023, n u will have to go over this process again if your mom have to come here over the years
