Hi

My friend closed permit renewal got rejected (not sure why) and he was in process of getting his PR application sent to CEC class in Canada.
Now company says to leave country and work offshore in India
Can he apply PR in Canada and leave country. ???
he has done all his hard work in getting forms ready just waiting for IELTS results.

In case he meets all CEC requirements, he can apply from anywhere in the world.
He does not have to be in Canada, nor does he be in Canada for the time the application is being processed.

I am in a similar situation. But if the applicant applies from inside Canada then leaves Canada, will one's case be moved from category Apply from inside Canada to Apply from Outside Canada. Because the waiting time for the two categories are quite different, i believe it's a lot faster to apply within Canada. Answers?
Thanks,

I believe that 'inland' and 'outland' are categories that only apply to family class applications. It will have no impact on CEC applications -

So say, I submitted my application now and go back to my home country next year, my case should still be processed normally as long as i can keep providing required document/ info to CIC? Leaving Canada after applying under CEC shouldn't jeopardize my case, right?

Thanks,

Hi - i am in the same boat - I applied for PR in CEC and then immediately left Canada. Check my post (Moved out of canada after filing application - need advise!) for forum members replies esp Sravi's - They seem to think that it should be ok....
