Apply OWP for my wife and child

Hi guys,
I just received my new study permit extension after done my 3 years on PGWP ( yes its almost 4-month wait), and I am considering about apply OPW for my wife, and extension visitor for my son. however, there are a few things I need advice:

1. should I apply OWP for my wife and visitor extension for my son together ( both of their current visitor records will expire very soon)
2. should I apply OPW for my wife alone and apply visitor extension for both of them together in case she does not approve her OPW but both of their application in extension of visitor can help
3. should I apply OPW for my wife and visitor extension for my son together, and apply for my wife visitor extension alone, so in case she does not approve her OPW, at least her application on visitor extension will help.
4. same with point 3 but I apply an extra application of visitor extension for my son so, if my wife OPW application failed, both of them still have a chance with visitor extension

Not sure why you are making it so complicated. Just apply for the OWP for your wife and visitor extension for the child.
