Apply for work permit from inside Canada

I'm a Information Technology Technician, brazilian, 20 years old, visiting Canada (Toronto) for 1 month now with a Visitor Visa of 6 months.
As it turns out, there are a lot of job offers that fit my profile and I would like to know if I can apply for a work permit (from inside Canada) to get a job here.
On Canada's embassy website, they say on the third session that I can apply for a work permit if "you have a temporary resident permit that is valid for six months or more"; But reading a little further, you'll see this; "If you are already in Canada as a visitor, you may not apply [for work permit] within Canada". So I'm confused here, can I apply or not?

I tried to phone this morning and there was an option there for " Visitor who wants to work".

They can probably assist you with your inquiry.

Why do you think you can apply? Do you have a TRP for more than 6 months?

If so then yes you can, if not then it is out of the question.

No.

And there is no such thing as a "visitor visa", you are referring to a visitor status.... you have a valid visitor status for six months. You are not eligible.

Hello I just phoned the 1888# for you... it says that you have an option:

You can submit an online application or mail the application to your home country.

You can also apply through mail in New York.

You can verify these through the number I gave you...

Press 3 for visitor, press 3 again, then press3 again "visitor who wants to work"...

or press 0 if you want to speak with an agent.

There's no harm in trying.

One of my friends' brother in law was able to find an employer who applied for a LMIA for him. He came here as a visitor too with 6 months validity.

So I think the very first thing you need to do is to find an employer who is willing to apply for LMIA for you and start the work permit process after.

No - it's completely different.

You have a TRV - a TRP is a completely different kind of permit. TRPs are special resident permits that are granted to people who are otherwise inadmissible to Canada (typically due to a crime).

You do not qualify for an open work permit under the TRP clause.

Again, you don't qualify for an open work permit under this rule. If it was this easy - everyone would have one.

This rule only applies to people with TRPs. You have a TRV. Apples and oranges.

If you want to work, you need to start by finding an employer willing to offer you a full time job. That employer then needs to obtain an approved LMIA. And only then will you qualify to apply for a closed work permit tied to that specific employer.

You need to secure a full time job offer from an employer in Canada. That employer then needs to obtain an approved LMIA. As part of this process, the employer will have to advertise the job for at least a month to prove there were no Canadians to be hire for the role, pay a $1000 fee and then wait several months for the application to be processed. If the LMIA is approved (not all are), then you can apply for a closed work permit tied to that employer. It will likely be extremely difficult to impossible to find an employer willing to go through the LMIA process for a call centre job.

Same questions for you as for everybody else in the exact same situation. Nothing unique about it

How did you manage to get a visitor visa and, much more importantly, how did you manage to get past CBSA at the port of entry? It seems to me you're not a genuine visitor as your intentions are other than just to "visit."

The fact that you slipped through CBSA's cracks and are now physically present in Canada doesn't make you eligible for any benefit you weren't eligible for before. Therefore, rather than asking in this forum, you should go to IRCC's official website and figure out for yourself what, IF ANYTHING AT ALL, you might be eligible for.
