Apply for second visitor extension before receiving answer of first one

Hi!
Is it true that you cannot apply for a second visitor extension if you haven't received the answer to the first one?
I did my first visitor extension through an immigration lawyer, but because of Covid took a long time to receive an answer and because I wasn't 100% sure the lawyer did it (since I didn't have news or anything) and because I Met someone here I applied to a second extension with the help of my boyfriend, with him as the person responsible for my expenses, and stating that we want to apply for common law, but someone in a Facebook group told me that is not possible to a apply to a second extension if you don't have the answer for the first one, and that because of that is invalid and that I Should leave the country in the date they gave for the first extension
What should I do? I don't want to loose my status but I don't want to leave my boyfriend or move to France so we can be together I have the AOR of the second extension which makes me doubt what that someone said about it being invalid :/

In my case, I waited for the first visitor record to come in and then applied for an extension... Just fyi, they gave me more time on my first extension for me to apply for the second extension... So i requested a first extension until mid Jan and they checked my application after mid Jan and provided me an extension until end of Feb... Hope that helps...

Thanks for answering, I did also received the answer for the first extension for way more than expected, but because I wasn't sure I could trust the lawyer and I spend almost 6 months without an answer, I applied for the second in December (I received the answer for the first one this week) the thing that I find weird is that someone told me is not possible to apply for a second without the answer of the first one, but if that was the case shouldn't it be impossible to make the second one in the Canada website?

Yeah, ur kinda right... However, most people usually don't need a second extension and that's probably why they make this inference... But, I'm sure the officers understand that... On top of that, these applications used to be processed on time pre-Covid era and a second extension was easy to apply... But that's just history now... Lol...

Just want to update that I received the answer for my second extension, so It's confirmed that it's posible to ask for a second one even if you don't have the answer of the first one yet
