Applied with wrong NOC code. Please help!

Hi Everyone,

hoping someone could help me out with this. I have received ITA under CEC and have gathered all my documents. However, I got my ITA under NOC 0601 (skill level 0) and now realize that the NOC which suits my duties better is NOC 6221 (skill level B). My points remain the same when recalculated.

Should I decline the invitation and reapply or should I have a letter explaining my situation and continue to submit my application.

Please help! I have only 20 days left to submit my application.

Decline and make the necessary changes. What’s your score? I’m assuming you have enough points to receive ITA at the next draw.

Thank you for your response. My score is 471. Can I re enter the pool under a new NOC if I decline this invitation and will it affect my future application?

Also, would you not recommend providing CIC with a letter of explanation stating the error?

If you decline, you will go back to the pool and then make the change. It won’t affect future applications.
