Applied with the "wrong" noc #

I'm currently the IT manager for a real estate company. I would say that that would be one of the 38 occupations just released (NOC 0213).

In my job, I've been spending a lot of time doing web development (along with many other things). I decided that in Canada, I would focus on web development, so put NOC 2175 on my application.

As 2175 is not in the list of 38, I will not be processed any quicker.

Is there anything I can do? Can I change the NOC number I submitted? Should I withdraw my application and submit again with the new details?

I've been in my current position for 3 1/2 years now. I have a contract that says IT Manager. I have pay slips etc.

I thought about that, but I wasn't sure if they kept application details in a database. i wouldn't want them to think i was making my details up.

if u submit all the relevant papers & proofs it will work ok. anyway they will check it with ur employer

I'm in the same situation and spoke to an immigration lawyer about it who suggested I should withdraw my application and apply again with the proper codes (this was a few months ago), although I'm not too sure if I should do that. There is an NOC code in the new list that I can use as an 'alternative' for my current experience but why not wait for them to return my application 1st (as they have said they will do to the ones that don't fit the box, and hopefully it wont be long) and then I should reapply. Whats the rush eh?

adnan, this is a good idea - let them return your application with a refund and then reapply again. This way you would have the PR even before youe last application if it was approved.

i only submitted my application last month, so i doubt anything has been done with it.

also, i'll get my money back if i withdraw it before they start.
