thanks for your reply but i heard that if you are in CANADA for more than 2 years then PR application process faster then any other country. So if my status is valid till december 2013 so i can stay in CANADA even though i dont have any job.

Hmmm... well, I'm not sure what you mean. CEC applications are processed relatively quickly, but you have to have 2 years of work experience (not simply residence) in Canada to qualify.

Currently, the only FSW streams accepting applications are those with arranged employment (need to continue to be employed by same employer the whole time), and the PhD stream, neither of which seem to fit.

Variations in individual processing time depend on your background and countr(ies) of prior residence, not so much current residence in Canada.

This is true, you may remain until the expiration of your work permit. But you cannot work - and if you leave Canada temporarily and try to return, there is no guarantee that you will be permitted to re-enter.

BTW - no employer "creates" a work permit, only CIC does. So an employer has no right to demand anything - s/he cannot demand that you leave Canada nor return the work permit.

I applied for CEC this June.But i am confused about a question which says "Visa Office". I wrote New Delhi.Since,i am from India and New Delhi is our Visa office for processiong of PR files.So,i just want to make sure that i answered this question right?

You should submit them as soon as you get your AOR - they won't be able to complete your background checks without them.

I ordered CAIPS today It's been 6months already since I applied CEC and I haven't heard anything yet. I receive my AOR last May 20,2012.
Starting getting little worried on my application. as soon I have this copy I'll let you know.

Hello Raj,

yes JES is right.. You cannot stay inside the country without a valid permit. In your case since you have stated that you have work permit untill December 2013, Yes you can legally stay in canada untill then or can go back to your home country...


I have applied for CEC when I was in Canada and now back to India.

Hi ... I filed my application on 15 July 2012. I havent received any acknoledgement from CIO regarding my application. I know that application has reached the office. Just wondering how long does it take to get the acknowledgement from them i.e the file number and start of processing. Please advice. Cheers !!!!

Hi all,

I applied from the UK and it arrived at Sydney on 26 July 2012. I am still waiting for my credit card to be charged and for AOR. Will update when I receive these.
