Applied outland but got email to say app is being processed in Mississauga?

My common-law partner and I have applied for sponsorship Outland (from Australia) and today I got an email saying our application is going to be processed at CPC Mississauga. I thought that usually if you applied outland, they sent the visa to your visa office of the country you applied from? Does anyone know why they might keep it in Canada and if this means the processing times will be slower or quicker? Thanks!

Many apps are kept in Mississauga to be processed. I haven't kept up with the processing times for Mississauga but there should be a few threads floating around that can give you an idea of how long.

I just got the same email. Spouse living in the US but case being processed in CPC Mississauga. I was curious to know why as well.

USA apps are always processed in Mississauga unless there is red flags it will be sent to NY or LA.
