Good Morning,

I applied for FSW - 0213 NOC in the month of April 2010. My credit card was charged on 6/1 and I received an email AOR on 6/24. I have a few questions and was wondering if anyone can help me with the answers:

1. I have not taken IELTS. Is that okay considering I have received AOR?

2. What does this AOR means? Is this mere acknoledgement of receipt or approval of the initial review of the application?

3. What are the next steps in terms of document collection? Is there a list of documents available that lists the document that I should start collecting considering I only have 120 days from the date of AOR to submit my application?

Thanks much

Thanks,
Mohan

1. Take it, you need to submit it along with all documents.
2. It means you have 120 days to submit all documents, doesn't it say so in the letter?
3. Gather all your documents within 120 days and submit them to the Visa Office, doesn't it say so in the letter?

Thanks for your blunt reply. It does mention some things in the letter but my questions are beyond the letter, if you carefully read them:

2. What does this AOR means? Is this mere acknoledgement of receipt or approval of the initial review of the application?

Your answer - 120 days to submit the documents, does not answer what I asked. If you don't know fair enough but "it doesn't say so in the letter".

3. What are the next steps in terms of document collection? Is there a list of documents available that lists the document that I should start collecting considering I only have 120 days from the date of AOR to submit my application?

Your answer - "Gather all your documents within 120 days and submit them to the Visa Office, doesn't it say so in the letter?" does not answer my question again.

I thank you for trying to answer my questions but please give a sympathetic reading to ones questions before jumping to conclusions that the original poster has not read the letter.

Since you did not show us your AOR, I assumed it was the same as everyone received, with very clear and explicit instructions.
Therefore don't mind my first answer, because I have no idea what kind of letter you received.
From your questions it seems that you received some unusual AOR since you are asking such questions.

Below is my AOR:

FEDERAL SKILLED WORKER
CENTRALIZED INTAKE OFFICE
P.O. BOX 7500
SYDNEY, NS B1P 0A9

Here is my name and address

18 December 2009

*BXXXXXXXXX *my first immigration file number

Dear Sir:
This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada in the Federal Skilled Worker class.
The Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism issued instructions which were published in the Canada Gazette on November 28, 2008. These instructions specify that only applicants who have an offer of Arranged Employment, applicants who are legally residing in Canada for at least one year as a Temporary Foreign Worker or an International Student, or applicants who have work experience in certain listed occupations are eligible to be processed in the Federal Skilled Worker class.

Based on a review of the information you have provided, your application is being recommended to the visa office for a final determination of eligibility for processing on the basis of:

X Work experience in an occupation specified in the Instructions issued by the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism and published in the Canada Gazette on 28 November 2008. - it means my application is being recommended to the visa office for a final determination of eligibility for processing. It means I am in list 38, my forms are OK, now it is up to Visa Office to make final decision to give me visa.

Arranged Employment in Canada

Please note: The requirements for Arranged Employment are outlined on: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG72.asp#factor5

You are therefore requested to submit a complete application to the following visa office: it means gather all documents and send them to Visa Office

Immigration Section

Chao Yang District
Beijing 100600

Any future correspondence should be sent to this visa office. Your reference number is located below the date of this letter. You must quote this reference number in any future correspondence.

X This correspondence also acknowledges receipt of your payment dated 15 Dec 2009 in the amount of 1,550.00 Canadian dollars. Your Payment Receipt No. is 00xxxxxxxx . Please keep a copy of this letter for your records and quote this number on all correspondence relating to application fees or refunds.

Submitting your Complete Application - here is what I am supposed to do, step-by-step.

Go to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.asp to download the Federal Skilled Worker guide and application forms.

Your complete application must consist of the following:

* A copy of this letter with the reference number above
* Application for Permanent Residence in Canada [IMM 0008]

* You must submit all documents required by the visa office. Visa office-specific forms and a list of all supporting documents required by the visa office are available at: www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled-mission.asp

When submitting your complete application to the visa office, you must advise them of any changes in your application (e.g. birth of a child, marriage, new occupation or employer, submission of an Arranged Employment Opinion approved by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada, change of address, change of e-mail address, change of immigration representative, etc). Please include a letter identifying what the changes are.

NOTE:

The Federal Skilled Worker application kit states (page 18), “Consult the Visa Office specific requirements now to determine what documents you will need to provide once your application is recommended for processing at a Visa Office. If you are not prepared to submit full documentation to the Visa Office within 120 days do not apply now. Visa Offices are strictly enforcing the 120 day rule and will not provide extensions.”

Just follow the instructions in the AOR email that you have received. There is no impact due to recent changes. If at all it is going to affect anything, CIO will send revised communication directly to applicants like you and me.

The only suggestion I can give is to send Full Application to your Visa Office as soon as possible.

Hi Canada77,
I would like to help you with the list of documents to be submitted, but the only problem is that I submitted to Damascus Visa Office, while you will submit to ND Visa Office, and sometimes the documents that are needed differs from one visa office to the other, but anyway if you think I can add any value to your case please send me an IM and I will be more than happy to share with you what I have sent.

Regards,

With Old rules IELTS was not required at CIO stage but is needed for CHC. Please take it so that you can submit the Original results with all documents with in 120 days from AOR issue date

2. What does this AOR means? Is this mere acknoledgement of receipt or approval of the initial review of the application?
It is approval after initial review of application. Detail review will start at CHC and all documents will be verified along with background check and security check

3. What are the next steps in terms of document collection? Is there a list of documents available that lists the document that I should start collecting considering I only have 120 days from the date of AOR to submit my application?
I am assuming your Visa office is New Delhi, please check the list of docs from following link
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/E37029.pdf

Thanks much

Thanks,
Mohan
