Guys, can I undergo medical examination in the Philippines? I am scheduled for a vacation this May and I want it to be done there. It is also very expensive undergoing medical examination here in KSA compared to the Philippines which only cost around 400-500sr.

I read in CIC that I can choose any panel doctor anywhere in the world even if it is not from the country of residence.

Hope somebody out there can share their experience dealing with this kind of situation.

Thanks a lot!

I didn't know this was possible. At any rate it is going to slow down the process.

In my home country, we have approved medical practitioner's who conduct evaluations and send reports. However, a CIC medical department that over sees those reports and make decisions is in another country and in some unusual cases, when they had to ask for some further medicals, it wasted me months and i heard of cases for much longer.

Moral of the story, if i could avoid medicals at another place, i would

1. Really not a good reply.
2. The OP can have his/her medical at any DMP in the world as per the link.
3. The DMP uploads the emedical and it is reviewed by Regional Immigration Medical Centre Doctors, who code it and then upload the results. This means that any Visa office in the world can access the medical medical results.
4. So to save costs the OP should have the medical in the Philippines.

I don't know how that conclusion was drawn

a) I didn't say at all that i knew this was possible or not. I didn't read DMP process details as such nor claimed knowledge in those.
b) Check you stats - i would have to state EXACT experience now
Medicals from Pakistan are evaluated in Delhi India after being uploaded online. This is the norm with out any exceptions.

c) I received a letter from CIC Delhi signed by medical officer by ORDINARY POST 1.5 months after going through medical, for some further tests for one of my kids.
I had to book multiple appointments at the local MP to get through that. During this time there was zero info from the actual CIC office in Pakistan.
And i came to know from medical practitioner that even AFTER being uploaded online, he has people delayed on for months WITHOUT UPDATE on medical files. The upload system is still electronic but some how communicating back to Embassy / applicant or MP (and choice of mode) is the discretion of Health care office.

This was the ONLY correspondence in my entire application which was through ordinary post. Otherwise, i was always communicating with CIC via email. This wasted a lot of time, energy and resulted in uncertainty.

Based upon this experience and KNOWING i was not unique (though cases with clear medical situation are processed faster), i would never recommend taking a chance on adding time delay. If medical fee is as important to you that you could afford risking LMO expiry or employer no longer willing to wait, then be my guest.

It never made sense to me, nor will it to any body else having a job with a tentative joining date and people waiting to start work.

UPDATE
This ate roughly 3 months additional though i followed up as fast as possible. Had the MP and regional office be the same, it sure would have been through much sooner. Please note - this was not a case of some arbitrary test whose results were being delayed. Its just one of the many factors in child growth which if not falls into standard readings, needs further assessment from a specialist. So none of the lab process was longer. It was merely a delay caused by communication THROUGH ORDINARY POST between regional office to applicant.

Hope that helps
