You should post in that thread I linked you. People there have experience with the appeal process and will be able to help you. There's also 800+ pages of other people's experiences in there that you can take a look at as well.I am actually looking for information about filing for reconsideration before filing for appeal. My application for my parents were denied due to missing fbi clearance. I spoke with an immigration consultant and she said we can send a letter asking for reconsideration and we can also appeal which I believe takes 2 yrs. Thank you.
Looks like the thread is for sponsoring spouses and I actually read few pages and nothing about sponsoring parents or about sending a letter for reconsideration. But i can look again. Ah yes, in your original post you didn't mention parents so I assumed it's a spousal case. I haven't seen an appeal thread for parents unfortunately.Looks like the thread is for sponsoring spouses and I actually read few pages and nothing about sponsoring parents or about sending a letter for reconsideration. I dont have my late spouses death certificate. I left it to his father to register and he never did. I do not speak woth them anymore. What was your reason for not supplying the document?
Actually I was speaking to the original poster who mentioned " My application for my parents were denied due to missing fbi clearance".I dont have my late spouses death certificate. I left it to his father to register and he never did. I do not speak woth them anymore.
In order to get a death certificate for a violent death, its a completely different process. For me to get it, i have to get the post mortem from the funeral home (who says they dont have it, that the police do. The police say the funeral home does). Then i have yo go to the police station to request the detectives file on the investigation, have that transferred to the coroners court, see a judge to release whats called a form d. Then take that to the registrars office. Then hope they issue it and then wait up to 12 weeks for the delivery. I have to personally go down to jamaica as it cannot be done from overseas, and has to be done by me, with his birth certificate and our old marriage certificate.
