Applied for PR (with AEO) on 19/11/08. Document requested

Hi all!

I applied on 19/11/08, the date on File no letter was 25/11/08 (recieved on 23/12/08), the request for documents letter was dated 11/12/08 (recieved on 05/01/09).

But they only requested for the copy of the Job Offer in Canada! They dint ask for PCC or other Current Job Update etc.

My queries:

1. The deadline to recieve the requested documents "in CHC, New Delhi office" is mentioned as within 30 days of the date mentioned on the request letter. So the deadline is 09/01/09 since 10th Jan is a Saturday. My lawyer (who is in Canada, who recieved the same on 05/11/09) says they can take 7 more days to respond & that this is only a standard language they use in the letters.
IS HE CORRECT? (Hope he is, coz today is 09/01/09 already & I am yet to get my documents here in India, to forward to CHC, New Delhi office).

2. When will they ask for the rest of the documents? (PCC & current JOb updates etc.
3. What next?

Hi Santosh,

If u have apllied with AEO then it is Regular appliacation process and it reuires you to submit each and every thing upfront. You are required to sent every thing ( Which includes Ielts result, PCC, employer referel letters , Copy of Positive AEO and Job offer letter from employer in canada ) upfront at the time of filing your applicatopn.

So i Wonder if u have applied with AEO then why u have not sent these things with application.Moreover u can get a scan copy of job offer letter and take a printout of it and sent to cic, new delhi.

The only thing which is not required in cases with AEO is proof of funds , but still they can ask for it

I did ask my lawyer(he is based in Canada), He says, since its him who represents my case, and also since because of this fact CHC is sending correspondence to his office (in Canada), HE HAS to send the requested documents again, with covering letter signed by him in original.

The copy of the "Job Offer in Canada" requested by CHC was already sent alongwith the application. In fact all documents, i.e. IELTS, Job Offer copy, positive AEO etc. were also sent with the application! (dont understand why they asked for the same again!) But still I am resending the same again anyway.

Yes, PCC was not sent, but now I have it & I can send it but they have not asked for the same (My lawyer had sent my application without it coz as per him, we can update our application when documents are requested).

The real query is, the document requested will not reach them before 12/01/09, which as per the letter from CHC (dated 11/12/08) is beyond their deadline of 30 days.
My lawyer says that they accept a 7 day grace, in case of international correspondance. Any idea about this??

Dear Santosh,

Per my understanding, your lawyer is an authorised representative for your application. He can "ALSO and NOT ONLY" write to CIC for any corrospondence (Being Principal Applicant, you have first right to write corrospondece to CIC at any time) but since in your case, you proximity to CIC office is close in terms of response time for corrospondence. I think you should ask your lawyer to write what ever letter on their letter and fax it to you in India and then local you can courier or drop the same to CIC, New Delhi office. Hope that work faster for you. All the best.

I have sent everything on my own to cic delhi. I donnt know abt this grace period. On job offer u can get a fax copy and mail it to Cic . I m still waiting to hear anythong from CIC New delhi. Medicals have been done three months back but no information thereafter. Now lets see........

Thanks for your response. I had the job offer since July'08 and I cud have sent it right away, but my lawyer says, since he is the authorised representative, he needs to sign the covering letter.

He didnt allow me to send them directly. The signed copy reached me on 12th Jan'09 Monday (deadline was 10th Jan'09, as per the letter from CHC), and were couriered right away,,would have reached them on 13th Jan. The covering letter did say that the Job Offer was sent to them (CHC) alongwith the application itself,,

The contract from the lawyer says I cannt approach CHC directly,, so I had to go by what my lawyer says,,else I also dont think CHC will not accept documents directly from me,, Thanks for the repsonse

May I know a bit more abt ur case? what profession & whether it was an AEO? When did u apply at CHC ?

I am from Sales & Marketing. Applied on 19th Nov'08. AOR dated 25th Nov'08, File Process Started (as per internet) on 3rd Dec'08, Request for document 11th Dec. Sent the document on 12th Jan'09.

I think you do not need to worry abt anything. everything wil be going smoothly.
you will get medical once they recieve your job offer letter.

Hi Santosh,

I have applied on August 08 , AOR date 24 sep 2008, Medicals requested along with prrof of funds 3oct 08( Deadline to reach there 27 oct 08), Medicals done 11 oct ( sent by doctor) on 15 oct , documents sent 22 oct 08( as per blue dat courier Ludhiana, reach there on 24 oct) and then.........nothing thereafter.

My online status is also showing In process and no information of medicals received by them and now lets see and i have applied as accoutant with AEO and my representive is also in canada but he has only signed representive form rest i have sent myself with my signatures on covering letter

Dear Punjab Boy,
This sometimes becomes so confusing!! Its clearly mentioned that they dont need to have funds in an AEO file. Still they asked you !!

Only one thing,,'Accountant' is a licenced profession in Canada & comes under regulated jobs' category. Since our degrees/license (even CA'a license) is not recognised in Canada, an accountant (even CAs) can only find job as a 'Book Keeper' to start with. After you write exams & get the license there, you can be an accountant in Canada.
Getting an AEO, you must have got a Job Offer as an 'accountant'.
Please dont be confused, or worried, just ask your consultant on these lines,,he'll know better. He'll reassure you,,

God willing,, it'll all be fine,,hope you'll soon get a call from them for your passport (for Visa stamping)!!

How long after does it usually take to get your PPR after medicals? and how long does it take to get your visa when you send your passport? This is with having AEO. anyone can answer....
