Applied for a visitor visa after being in the pool of express entry. Is this wrong?

I submitted my EE profile last September but my score was too low so I have not received any ITAs yet.
Meanwhile, I have been planning to visit Canada for a couple of years and just applied for a visitor visa to Canada (a couple of weeks ago).

Now the more I think about it, the more I am worried if I made a mistake of applying for a temporary visa at this stage. Would it impact my visitor visa review when they see I have a profile for express entry? And what is the rejection rate for a temporary visa?
I have to admit I did not do a good job explaining the purpose of itinerary. I just included my hotel booking..

It's irrelevant.


However if you didn't provide sufficient documents demonstrating you have a clear and reasonable itinerary, you have enough funds to support your trip, you have strong ties to your home country and will leave Canada at the end of your planned stay, etc, your application for a visitor visa could be rejected

Appreciate your input. I really hope whatever I submitted would be sufficient - I provided my employment letter (with salary), four-month bank statement and the hotel confirmation.
